Oral Health Basics-What You Need to Know about Tooth Decay
Symptoms and treatment
Tooth decay is the destruction of the tooth enamel, mostly resulting from bacterial infections in the gum. Signs of tooth decay include; tooth sensitivity, toothache, cavities in the enamel, jaw inflammations, and severe fever at the extreme. The primary treatment for tooth decay entails filling of the cavities.
Prevention occurs through routine oral care and a root canal that works best under extreme tooth decay, however, prevention should always precede treatment to ensure appropriate oral and dental health. Among the recommended ways of preventing tooth decay includes following a regular pattern in brushing, this should occur at least once in the morning and before bedtime as well as adhering to the ideal tooth brushing basics.
